This was the best meal we had in Ghana. 100% organic and vegan. Cooked over an open fire adds a subtle smokiness to the food which deepens the umami flavour.
We ordered kontomire, waakye, salad of creation, tofu pepper soup (this was just so yum), shito (the best plant based shito - so good we ordered a large jar to take away, p, kelelewe, cassava. (The noodles in the photo were off menu and for our child). Drinks were freshly made too.
As everything is made by aunty and her family and cooked to order, best to make an appointment and order in advance.
We had a large lunch there around 3pm and we were not hungry until the following day.
Seriously the best meal we've had in Ghana (and I say this as a meat eater). We came back for breakfast and also ordered a chocolate cake for the road the following day. We will be back.

So glad we stopped here for lunch during our stay in Busua. You go there to order in advance and when you come back, you’re served a delicious meal on a banana leaf. Kaya creates delicious, nourishing meals with amazing flavor - recipes from her grandmother passed down - do not miss the chance to eat here.

Kaya has the best local food in Busua. All the food is completely meat free, no sugar and they use minima plastic. The atmosphere is very authentic and homely. The owner and her two daughters were delightful hosts. Would defo recommend!

We had an amazing lunch at Kaya Itals. Upon Kaya's recommendation, we ordered the fufu and the vegetable stew with cassava. Both dishes tasted amazing and were freshly made and organic. It was the best food we have had during our two week trip in Ghana. We learned a lot about Kaya's philosophy about food and had an overall great experience. We would 100% recommend this place if you are looking for a great vegetarian meal in Busua!

Really nice vegetarian restaurant. No animal or artificial products are used to prepare the meals. It tastes really healthy and flavorful.
You will eat on freshly washed leaves and use a coconut shell for the drinks.
Good place to try Ghanaian recipes - but with soy “meat“.
The owner is very lovely and hospitable.
