GES Announces 2024 Results and Placement Process. The Ghana Education Service (GES) has issued an important announcement regarding the release of the.
2024 Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) results for Senior High Schools. This press release, dated 10th October 2024, is directed towards parents, students, and the general public, providing updates on the process of confirming school placements and addressing certain complications encountered during the selection process.
Key Highlights: Examination and Placement Update: Out of a total of 569,095 results received from the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), 451,797 candidates qualified for placement. However, GES noted a few mistakes made by students during the selection procedure, which hindered some candidates from confirming their placement statuses. Additionally, the ongoing marking process has been marred by incidents of examination malpractice, leading to the withholding of approximately 10,898 papers.
Call for Action: With the release of results and placements only a few weeks away, GES urges both students and parents to make the most of this window of opportunity. They are encouraged to take the following steps:
• Confirm their result status.
• Complete the Self-Placement process to select from available schools.
• Act before the upcoming deadlines.
Self-Placement Module: For students who do not match with any of their automatic placement choices, they will be redirected to the Self-Placement Portal. Here, candidates can select a school based on various factors, including region, school, residential preference, and program of choice. GES stresses that candidates have the freedom to modify their school choices on the portal as often as necessary before final enrollment.
Examination Malpractice: GES has expressed concern over the high incidence of examination malpractice. Such malpractices have negatively impacted the marking process, delaying the results for some students and leading to the withholding of papers.
Support Systems: GES has opened a dedicated WhatsApp line, (053 451 7153), for students, parents, and stakeholders to seek clarification or assistance on any placement-related issues.
The Head of the Public Relations Unit, Cassandra Twum Ampofo, concluded the press release by wishing all candidates success and encouraging them to take advantage of the resources provided to ensure a smooth placement process. This year’s placement cycle is expected to provide an opportunity for candidates to secure their future education, and the GES management is dedicated to ensuring that the process is as transparent and fair as possible.
